Enjoy a sweet treat while relieving pain and healing the body. These Very Cherry Turmeric Muffins combine 2 types of Dark Cherries, Ginger, Turmeric and Flax Seed for perfect post-workout snack. As usual, they are raw vegan, plus gluten and sugar free.
So, I’m in pain, yep injured again. The pain meds the doc gave me do not work and frankly, I don’t like taking pills anyway. But I’m weird like that. I already know that Tart Dark Cherries, Ginger and Turmeric all have healing, pain relieving properties. So, I set out to make a treat containing these 3 powerhouses.
Basically, I put Ginger and Turmeric in everything-my smoothies, salad and/or stir fries. They are both just so good for you. And lately, I’ve been throwing Cherries into my smoothies as well.
For your information, Cherries and Ginger make the top 8 pain relieving foods on this list. And all three make the list according to Prevention Magazine. Important note: Black Pepper helps activate the Turmeric, so try not to leave it out:)
In this recipe, raisins and flax seed meal serve as the binder. Of course, you can sub the raisins for dates or extra Cherries. But be warned, Organic Dark Cherries can be expensive. To save money, I buy frozen Organic Dark Cherries at Costco. Of course, if you can find them fresh, that’s best!
